History of Alpine

Alpine Church started in the fall of 2001 with a handful of families in South Ogden, Utah. Led by Bryan and Tracy Dwyer, Alpine began with a vision to create a new church community that would focus on helping people from all walks of life discover and grow in a relationship with Jesus Christ.

After the initial vision meetings in the Dwyer’s backyard, the church began meeting at North Davis Junior High in Clearfield. After a year and a half Alpine, found a new home in Washington Terrace at the Terrace Plaza Playhouse, where Alpine met for the next 4 and a half years. Despite its limitations, the Playhouse proved to be a wonderful place for God to work, and Alpine grew from less than 100 people to more than 500 people.

During our time at the Playhouse, the people of Alpine gave sacrificially to purchase land and begin a building project in Riverdale. After a year of construction, Alpine moved into its Riverdale Campus in the fall of 2007. This new building proved to be a great new venue for ministry and a great connection to the community. Over the next year, God continued to bless Alpine in every way, and we quickly outgrew the Riverdale Campus, so we started making plans to open a second Alpine Church campus in Layton.

In the fall of 2008, we opened up the Alpine Church Layton campus at North Layton Junior High, which created a new opportunity to reach people in the Layton area and freed up space to grow in the Riverdale campus. Currently with both campuses, more than 1200 people worship at Alpine each week and God continues to do the amazing work of reaching people with His good news of salvation through Jesus Christ.
